Well goodness gracious look at me go! 2 days in a row, I doubt this will happen again, so soak it up while you can :)
We had a pretty fun day today! We got to have cousin Luke over to play while Val took baby Ryde to his doctor appointment. We ate Trix, watched Popeye and Sponge Bob, fed baby Ace and played with the doggies. While we were watching Popeye, I took a little video of Ace. His first video ever... this kid may be a natural! However, mom is not. My voice is all nasally and whiny like Louis in Family Guy (I am talking a little 'baby' though so I can't be that hard on myself!). I love the faces Ace makes and could easily watch him all day just to see him figure life out, it's amazing what I think he's already taking in from the world around him. Such a little sponge!
After aunt Towel (side note: when my nieces and nephews were younger, they couldn't say aunt Val, it came out aunt Towel. I think that's what my kids will call Val and I hope she's OK with it because I happen to think it's adorable!) got back from the doctor, we fed the boys and watched them nap for a few hours while we caught up on our smut TV, Snooki's biography on E! and ordered Pajama Jeans. I had to see if they are all they're cracked up to be! I'm the guinea pig, if they're awesome, Val's gettin some! I just hope that if I happen to love them as much as I think, I'll never want to change out of them. I'd also be in trouble cause I'd buy another pair AND maybe convince the pajama jean queens to make them for work too... I think I'm on to something! You may ask yourself in the pictures you see from now on 'is Tess wearing those pajama jeans?'... the secret will be my own MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! (but probably yes). Ace had quite the nap at 3pm, he made me give him a bath by having a blowout while he slept. This, after peeing on me TWICE this morning. I laughed and all Matt had to say was 'fool me once' before he rolled over and went back to sleep :)
After we got the boys up, we went to take uncle Cody dinner in the hospital. Chipotle is his favorite (which is also mine, Ace could possibly grow up to hate it because I ate there at least 3 times a week when he was in the belly). Uncle Cody broke his tibia and fibula in a freak softball accident and had to have surgery. He's been in the hospital since last Thursday. We go visit as much as we can to keep his spirits up. Tomorrow he'll be able to come home (hopefully)... and by 'home' I mean our basement. He and his new wife Meaghan happen to live on the third floor of their apartment building and he won't be able to crutch up those flights, so we're getting a few new roommates for the next few weeks. I guess the silver lining for them is that I'm still on maternity leave and can be Cody's nurse for the rest of the time he is out of work. It will be nice to have someone at the house when Matt is at work to talk to. Don't get me wrong, I love spending time with my son, but all he does when I ask him about his day is grunt and cry and poop his pants :)
We got home in enough time to show daddy our new video and talk about our days. Ace is now sleeping soundly and I can't wait to join him.
Without further adieu, Ace Trewin.

Our first blog!
Well, I finally decided to break down and get on this blogger thing. Many of our family members are not on Facebook, so we figure the best way to keep everyone updated on our little Trewin family is to blog! This is just another thing we've got to do, however, I forget to brush my teeth sometimes so I sure hope I don't let people down!
This is our story.
First date: February 7, 2008

Pregnant: October 2010
Monday June 13th was our first family game night at our house. We were playing The Game of Life (of all things) with Cody, Meaghan and Ma Trewin. I felt like I was peeing uncontrollably which was making me really nervous (since I'm such a control freak). I was trying to hold out until everyone left before I told Matt but was completely embarrassed when my little brother pointed out that it looked like I peed the couch. I ran upstairs to clean myself up when I realized something wasn't right, so I hollered down to Matt to call the hospital. We were told to come in so I could get checked out. We arrived at the hospital at 9:30pm and was sent to my labor and delivery room an hour later. I was scared and happy and excited and worried and sad and anxious and all of the feelings that go along with a nurse telling you 'we're going to have a baby tonight or tomorrow!'. You think you have time to get ready for this beautiful change but it's here, starring you in the face... what do you do? You call your mom!
I was worried about my mom getting to town in time, she assured me that labor with your first child could take 24 hours and that she would be on the first flight from Seattle in the morning. Her plane arrived at 9:30am but her ride was nowhere to be found. She flagged down a random man who was dropping his wife off at the airport and told them her story of desperation to get to the hospital because her only daughter was in labor with her first baby. The man's wife said 'you're giving this lady a ride to the hospital'. Hilarious, mom hitch hikes her way to see me! During this fiasco, I'm getting pitocin and my epidural and laboring right along! Mom arrived in my room at 11:20am. I push a total of 6 times and we have ourselves a baby at 11:40!
Arol Clayton Edwin (Ace) was born June 14, 2011. We were blessed that although he was 5 1/2 weeks early, he was a healthy boy. 6 lbs .8oz 19 1/4 inches long.
